The 4th Annual Cultural Inclusion Institute focuses on the theme of “Linking Social Determinants of Health to Health Disparities and Cultural Inclusion.” The event is geared toward teaching primary care providers, nurses, social workers, dentists, educators, researchers, non-profit community based agencies, and students.
The conference learning objectives include:
- Explaining how expanding the diversity of healthcare professionals can better address the social issues related to access to care, including cultural practices, language barriers, and stigma.
- Describing research in health disparities, the development of strategies to reduce them and innovations in obtaining health and social services funding.
- Describing public health strategies in eliminating health disparities and policies that can improve social determinants of health; and
- Understanding how to advocate for social justice to address the inequities in the healthcare system as it relates to the social determinants of health.
