The Nutrition Policy Institute (NPI) at the University of California, Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources, conducts policy-relevant research on nutrition, physical activity, and healthy communities. Its rigorous research and experienced staff evaluate public policies and develop evidence-based recommendations for actions to promote good health. NPI projects in venues including schools, child care facilities, WIC, and SNAP-Ed have guided strategies to improve the well-being of vulnerable populations in California and throughout the U.S., supporting healthful eating, physical activity, and reduction of obesity, chronic disease, and health disparities.
